VISION
At Build Machine Games we aspire to expand the expressive range and power of the medium with emotionally resonant, socially relevant games that challenge players' perspectives, pre-conceptions and empathy as much as their reasoning and reflexes.
MISSION
Our mission is to make great games that exceed expectations and elevate the form by empowering passionate developers with autonomy and accountability, and supporting them with inspiring vision, agile practices and cutting edge technology.
VALUES
Leaders do not tell people what to do, they show the way. We value evidence in the build over ideas in a document, and we do not create or assign tasks to others without their consent or involvement. Everybody checks in.
We prefer action over deliberation. We embrace the approach of doing it wrong the first time, and then doing it over again with experience and perspective. We believe this leads to better outcomes than debating, compromising, and only having the time to do it wrong and ship it.
We take pride in our work and we accept the responsibility of owning our work from inception to polished delivery. If ownership needs to migrate, we support the transition to ensure continuity of pride.
Aesthetic work is never finished, only stopped, and our favorite phrase to hear, and to say, is "it would be better if...". We constantly offer one another new perspectives and opportunities to improve our games and ourselves.
We challenge ourselves by setting ambitious goals. By inspiring one another to continuously improve our capabilities we ultimately meet our goals on time and at quality.
